Woodland and woodcraft work is a great environment for people to relate to themselves, to nature and to each other. I have worked in this environment for the last 10 years, with Young People as a woodland tutor at Ruskin Mill College in Gloucestershire, and more recently running the Sharpham Trust conservation volunteer group near Totnes. Teaching practical skills as part of a therapeutic education forms a container for all the facets of positive human interaction through our words, hands and hearts. Working alongside other people and experiencing all that arises within our environment together brings many benefits.
I currently work with individuals and groups of young people who are not coping in mainstream education, and who have additional needs. I run workshops in spoon making, stool making, gate making and other woodwork as well as teaching tree planting and woodland management systems.
I have full insurance and am DBS checked for this kind of work.
TESTIMONIALS:
“I knew as soon as I met him that he would be a great person to work with my young adult son. He has an infectious enthusiasm, and great ability to think creatively and to build things and make things with my son that he can use and enjoy. He is committed and works hard, reliable, and has such a good positive aura about him that it is something that we really look forward to in our calendar”
