On-site Milling of Timber
I have been chainsaw milling for over 10 years, I use an Alaskan mill which allows me to convert logs of up to 42 inches in diameter into planks or other sectional timber. Because of its portability, I can work on logs inaccessible to any other sorts of machinery. Another advantage of not using heavy machinery is the minimal impact on the woodland floor or garden in which I'm working. Cut timber can be carried out by hand, and the only thing left behind are footprints and sawdust! I can offer advice and help with the correct methods of stacking and drying of the cut timber.
